About Broken Hearts and Jessi

Jessi and AdamJessi Williams and her Fiancee, Adam Earl, started Broken Hearts Animal Rescue in March of 2009, but they have been rescuing animals for many years. Since the start of Jessi’s career as a Veterinary Technician in 2004, Jessi has been giving second chances to animals in need, especially those who have no where else to go. Before the concept of Broken Hearts was established, Jessi and Adam paid for and provided all medical, nutritional, and emotional requirements of these animals out of their own pocket, and have rescued over 70 dogs, 50 cats, 2 snakes, and 1 raccoon. No animal is turned away from the Broken Hearts house regardless of species, breed, age, history, or circumstance.

By establishng Broken Hearts Animal rescue Jessi and Adam hope to reach out to the public for support in their cause and make a greater and more permanent impact on the lives of animals.

Kubota

Kubota - 1/2 Rottweiler and 1/2 BEAST :)

Kubota was rescued in February 2006. He was 2 weeks old and 5lbs, he has been adanboned at an apartment complex in Salt Lake City in the dead of winter all by himself. He was found by a friend of Broken Hearts who lived in the apartments and she immediatly brought him to Jessi. He was having a difficult time breathing, had a fever and would not take a bottle, so he was taken to the emergency animal hospital. He was diagnosed with Pheumonia and given little chance of survival at his young age. Jessi took him home and “force fed” him, but within 12 hours he was taking a bottle. He slept every night in bed with Jessi, and was nursed back to health.

Today Kubota is a whopping 165lbs! So much for mal-nutrition making him small! We know his mother was a Rottweiler because the person who found him knew the people who abandoned him. He is a gentle giant who especially loves taking care of KITTENS! (as a side note, Jessi is 5′5″!)

Romeo

Some Mutt and a whole lot of love

Some Mutt and a whole lot of love

Romeo was rescued in September of 2005. He was found in Southern California by the local animal shelter, wandering the streets as a stray. He was underweight, and had an upper respiratory infection and was scheduled for euthanasia. He was only 3 months old and was very scared and traumatized. Jessi heard about him from family members who lived in the area and immediatly made the 12+ hour road trip to pick him up.

Today he is 80lbs of love and affection, and he makes an impact on all who know him. He is truely a unique dog.  _____________________________________________________________________________

Aurora

This is Aurora - Only an hour old!

Aurora is a broken hearts animal, though she was not a rescue. Aurora was born in April 2007, she is the baby of Lily, another Broken Hearts Horse. Aurora is 3/4 Thoroughbred and 1/4 Dutch Warmblood, and is destined to be a star. Jessi competed successfully on Lily for many years in Dressage and 3 Day Eventing, but Lily was injured in an accident, and could no longer compete. A few short years later, Aurora was born. Jessi hopes to compete on her in Dressage starting in 2010-2011. Right now she is just a naughty baby living the life and eating grass!
